All P no D theme league anyone?

PostSat Mar 12, 2016 12:50 pm

Anyone interested in a theme league? I've been thinking about all Pitching, no Defense.

$120M League. All SP must be $8M or more. No defense better than a 3 and no arms, C or OF, better than +1. This includes bench players.

Open to other constraints or rules. Just want something fun and different. I'll set up a league if I get a few people interested.

Sign me up, sounds like a fun theme, probably needs to be a private league though, just saw where an all petco theme, public league ended up with a fulton county ballpark team. That could've been an honest mistake (not reading league decription), has happened in a couple leagues I've been in, but most of the time, people will comply with written rules in private leagues.

Cool Cool Cool. There's 2 of us. Anyone else? If I get two more, I'll create a private league.

Bump again. There has to be someone interested. If you're holding off because you aren't happy with the rules, feel free to make suggestions. Nothing written in stone. Let's get this league off the ground.

Now we're cookin' with gas. I'll set up a private league and password as soon as
a) I learn how to
b) I get some time

Anyone else interested? After looking thru the list of potential players, I was wondering if I should lower the salary cap to $100M or $110M. I really like the idea of choosing players that are rarely chosen and I think a lower cap might force us to choose some of the real undesirables in the set. Any thoughts?

I think 120m is fine, the lower range fielders should provide some variation in the players used. Just for clarification, I assume that we are talking about where we start our fielders, for example Mel Ott (1934) is rated a 3 in CF but a 2 in LF, so he must be starting in cf for his team. Also, I suggest we leave the defensive sub part of the team strategy page empty, and let HAL worry about any late defensive subs, players will be playing out of position for the most part and it will be hard to keep him from screwing with it anyway.
