Anyone have any experience with Max Bishop 1926. Great defense, and seems like he might make a decent lead off hitter.

...and zero speed or anything else for that matter. in a pinch he will work but there are way better options at 2B and around the same price.

Maybe I am skewed by Moneyball, but he seems to get on base more than any other second basemen with that defensive level, anywhere near that price range.

Back when the player pool was smaller, Max was used a lot In atg 2.
He can end up with a .350 on base
He can't run and he will only have about 35 RBI

This league allowed no players costing more than $6. Bishop batted No. 8 vs. LHP, 6 vs. RHP.

you can't bat bishop lead off. he casn't run at all and will clog up the base paths. he gets killed trying to score from 2b on singles

I have instructed my 3, 4 and 5 hitters to hit home runs. :D

This team with Bishop '26 had my all-time favourite quirky stat line. Max had 0 hr, 0 steals and 0 errors. His DP partner Wells went 35-24-47 in those categories.

What I've found from using the slow Bishop/Stanky type of guys is they don't really score that many more runs batting leadoff than using a guy like Grissom or Vince Coleman.

I tried that and my hitters told me to mind my own business.
