If you can’t stand The Donald…

… then think back to 1982. Our country was, in general, more harmonious and the Middle East was fairly stable after the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty. Everyone loved Michael Jackson’s Thriller and former Red Sox relief pitcher Sam “Mayday” Malone owned a bar where everyone knew your name.

The St. Louis Cardinals beat MVP Robin Yount and his Brew Crew in the World Series, and a 21-year-old Cal Ripken, Jr. was Rookie of the Year.

Ease your mind off of 2016 politics and come join the 1982 24-team league called “No Direction Home.”

FoggyOne (and others),

A 24-team league for the 1982 season could be particularly interesting and challenging.

With the limited player pool, we will not be able to make perfectly constructed teams. In fact, most teams will have blemishes like real teams nowadays (and like in 1982).

With few players left in free agency once the season starts, dipping into free agency will only provide bit players to fill needs. Perhaps trading among the 24 managers will therefore be the more lively method for improving teams.

Anyone up for the challenge, feel free to jump in to the "No Direction Home" league created by merkle08.
