http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/schedule/1445694

First 42 Games: 31 W - 11 L (.738%)
Next 21 Games: 4 W - 17 L (.190%)
Next 29 Games: 23 W - 6 L (.793%)
Next 29 Games: 8 W - 21 L (.276%)
Last 11 Games: 9 W - 2 L (.810%)

Have you ever experienced anything like that before THREE UNIQUE STREAKS playing .738% or BETTER baseball with TWO UNIQUE STREAKS (totalling 50 games) playing .276% or WORSE baseball???

I know I've never seen it before.

Probably not quite that bad but I just had a very weird season. Really messing with my head because I have only played about six seasons and really wanted to improved. Only tool I use is DiamondDope and nothing was adding up on the field. Plodding alonq below .500 with the best run differential in the league by a margin for most of the season. I was 10 games out and going nowhere about halfway through so I committed the mortal sin and dumped a few of my best players losing CAP. Then I started winning. Ran off 14 straight wins and that included sweeping the best teams in the league. Then back to a few 2-8 runs with sporadic short win streaks. My competition for the wildcard choked hard and I backed into the playoffs at 84-78. Then I swept the best team in the league in the semis. A team that owned me 9-3 during the regular season. Lost the finals in six games. A bunch of low scoring one run games. I only scored one run the last two games with few hits but my $5mil pitchers held their own against $9-10 pitchers. I had one chump pitcher due to my player moves. Got tired of him pitching batting practice so I used my .50M fifth starter in game 4. He tossed a great game and gave up 2 runs in 7 innings. Musial and Joe Jackson stopped hitting. Got my free credit and I learned pretty much nothing. :(

Yes you did, you learned that strat is a game of chance, and even if the odds are with you, you can lose, or if they're against you, you can win. Lots of luck involved in this game and all you can do is try to put together a good team, a team that mathematically can succeed, and hope you get the rolls.

You are correct of course. I want to think this game has a lot to do with skill and effort invested, but perhaps it is just a game of chance. I still enjoy it.
