Roy Sievers

For anyone interested, there is a very nice column by the Washington Posr's Tom Boswell on the death last Monday of Roy Sievers at age 90. Like Boswell, I grew up in Washington and my first boyhood hero was Sievers.

Yes, he was my favorite, too, when he played for the White Sox.

When i was a kid I thought Roy Sievers was related to Tom Seaver because my pop always added the S to the Seaver surname.
