12 wins away from 8 tickets!!!

I tell ya, if I win those 8 tickets, we're gonna have a blast in New York City this summer!!!

But it's gonna be a tough road to get there. Actually, we (Poutine) are the underdogs this week in both series!!!

2015 Finals: Poutine is facing Stoney's Phanatics
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/scores/432410

Phanatics finished with the league's best record. They went 6-3 against my team this season. And Stoney is a heck of a coach. He made the Finals three years ago without making the playoffs, he made the Finals playoffs last year, and he's making the Finals' finals this year...a nice progression that should set him the championship next season!!!

ATG Semi-Finals: Poutine is facing Cristano's Hot Head
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/scores/432414

Poutine finished with 100 wins, but it was good only for wild-card. So we get to face cristano's team. Which means facing Pedro twice and 20 innings+ from Murray...ouch!! And Cristano made the Final tour two years ago, made the Finals' finals last year, so I follow the same logic as for Stoney, this should be his year.

And don't forget those 5 card adds to the ATG set for the winner!

Good luck to all! Can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be where you four are....

I liked how you picked up a buck thirty two ($1.32) Don Sutton who was dropped from another team after his 1-5 start and found out just when and where to use him to end up 9-0 and 2.17/1.02

It's genius like that makes the crème rise to the top. This will be one to watch. Good Luck to all.

How did Joe Evans hit a homerun?

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/sim/1444935

He has...
- No true homeruns
- No #s
- "W" power on both sides of his card

I thought with W power, you could not get an HR on pitcher's card. :?:

BTW, one of these days, I'm going to make Joe Evans a everyday OF and see how many triples he can hit over 162 games. :o

Evans probably stretched a triple to an inside-the-park homerun.

I used him as an everyday outfielder once. He hit 45 triples in 158 games.

"...stretched a triple to an inside-the-park homerun." :?: :?: :?:

Didn't know you could do that. :geek:

This is one of the options under max rules (more baserunning decisions) and is HAL-only decision.

Its also why you occasionally see someone get a single but there is a b-O notation that the batter is out. In that case, he tried to stretch a single to a double and failed. Unless you go back and look for it on the card roll though, you might never know when a successful stretch has occurred. I went back and looked at the Evans homerun I suspect you were noting given the topic of this post, and it was a triple that was rolled and it must have been stretched to an inside the parker.

Interesting!

So here's a breakdown of parks & records of these 4 teams...

PYTHAGOREAN WINS

98 - 64 Rooters (842 RS / 664 RA) --> Actual W-L: 100-62
95 - 67 Poutine (924 RS / 765 RA) --> Actual W-L: 100-62
94 - 68 [Insert Team Name Here] (922 RS / 770 RA) --> Actual W-L: 92-70
88 - 74 Nerds (839 RS / 766 RA) --> Actual W-L: 82-80

...so these teams are a bit more evenly matched than regular season records indicate. Right now, both lower-seeded teams lead their respective series, 3-1.

An question for the Championship Finals managers, is it better to play in pitcher's park or hitter's park. The parks selected indicate they may think pricing system favors Pitchers and / or non-power Hitters...

labratory (Forbes '65): 18 - 8 - 1 - 1
luckyman (Metropolitan '71): 8 - 14 - 3 - 12
cristano1 (Forbes '57): 17 - 17 - 1 - 1
chris_s (Wrigley '59): 4 - 5 - 4 - 17

AVERAGE BALLPARK FOR PLAYOFFS: 12 - 11 - 2 - 8
