Trashing a Barnstormers Team, and League! WHY DO IT

Currently in a $100M BARNSTORMERS league, and have a manager, that has made 61 player moves SO FAR, and now has a team salary of under $80M

Obviously, this manager has not only trashed his team, but in doing so, has also trashed the league. The other managers in the same division, no fault of their own, have now gained an absolute huge advantage. End result, the playing field is far from being level.

Common sense dictates, that an $80M team, HAS NO CHANCE, of competing against $100M teams.

Sure, the guy spent his money to buy a team, and I guess can do whatever he wishes, after all it is his money....BUT, in all fairness to the others, this practice should not be allowed.

Solution, CAP the number of transactions, and DOLLARS, that one team is allowed to make, during a season?

Fairly common "desperation" move for a player in last place but what I see of his roster is that there are a lot of people "cut" with absolutely no stats so they weren't even given enough time to play games. Clearly that goes beyond the desperation of losing. I can e-mail him to "counsel" him or maybe we should just e-mail SOM and see if they can take over and strengthen the team ? If you just step back and look at all of the Barnstormers Leagues - anyone with an unusually bad record and heavy minus run differential will show players cut. In this case, the request for SOM to take it over would be my recommendation to the league.

I'm also a member of this league and in the division that benefits from this managers inexperience. Up until last night I was in 1st place now a game back, that said I have no problem if the rest of the league wants to reset the league back to the original start with Strat taking over for the wayward manager. At the very least I would like to see Strat take over the team if the rest of the league agrees.

You cant reset the league back to start with so many games played. I wouldn't even consider that possibility. Just take over the team and make it competitive, (som will do this) set his lineup and let it go on autopilot. And based on what he says when confronted, he stands the chance of not being given the chance to play in future events. This is his first time in Barnstormers. The implied "intent" of dropping players without letting them play is too obvious.

Ok Moose was just trying to be fair to everyone. I want to win but not because someone else is tanking it. How do we initiate the process of having Strat take over the team?

On a related note, I'm also counseling another player. He duplicated his Event #1 grouping - not only with the same grouping but the same stadium as Event #1. When he was given links to the groupings AGAIN (as everyone got with the league loading e-mail) he went out and had SOM change it to a stadium STILL in the same grouping. And now, first pitch has occurred and it's too late. Looking back, he ALSO likes to dump and this makes him incapable of being able to compete. In five events in the 2016 tour, his BEST event was 72-90 with 15 players dropped.

We came to the conclusion that he needs to save his money. I suggested that he post his team links here and get advice, get competitive and we can revisit the tour some other time.

It's a shame when newbies get into Barnstormers - particularly when SOM itself is saying they want bigger numbers in order to justify more credits for making the SEMI's. I'd rather people save their money if they determine they are in over their heads.

I will contact SOM tomorrow morning and see if they will look at this situation.

As another player in this league (not in that division though) I would like to also urge that in addition to trying to do something to make this team competitive, we NOT give it a drone manager. An 85 to 90 million salary and drone manager will be just as bad. is there a way we can pass this team on to a "filler" manager to take care of it over the last 2 weeks?

I have sent SOM an e-mail to support (unfortunately to the only "365" e-mail that we all have - never to someone who can read it NOW) - and what I would like would be to return the team to as close to 100 Mil as possible with players and a lineup that works with his chosen stadium. It's pretty much up to SOM to decide if they want to autopilot it or assign it to someone. I don't want it - I suck as a player. I think at this point, the damage is already done, we just need to stop the bleeding.

Moose,

While I doubt you suck as bad as you think as a manager, as an administrator and cat herder, you are great!

thanks for looking into this.

I will never understand people that destroy their roster by dropping players over and over. I have occasionally tried to counsel ones that do it and they almost never listen for whatever reason.
