Biggest playoff mismatch ever?

Semi Finals begins tonight. My team (111-51) faces a team with a record of 72-90. I gotta say, finishing 39 games better than one's opponent, does make me wonder about the playoff format.
Given that this is ATG, would it be so bad to have an OPTION during the league creation process, to have two six team divisions with the winners meeting in the playoffs, winner getting 2 credits and loser getting 1? Same deal for SOM financially, would be more historically realistic too and would limit the wild card crap that has so taken over in MLB and the NFL and here as well.
Just my two cents.

No knock on your team. But the East was an incredibly tough division and the West, well not so much.
But getting to the finals could still be problematic. Thus my post.

I understand your point. A few weeks back, I had a team that won 83 games during the regular season, which wound up winning the finals in 5 games. Sometimes it's the divisions but sometimes it seems like the luck of the dice. I think your idea of two six team divisions is worth looking at for some of the advanced leagues.

I would like to see a fifth team added to the playoffs...what you say....ok here me out...right now the difference between best record and last team to make playoffs is 1 home game....so we add team 5 who will meet team 4 for 3 of 5 playoff (starting on Saturday after regular season then finish up on Sunday) the winner of this series meets the #1 seed much more advantageous to be nbr 1 and better to win your division then meet in the wild card. BTW team 2 and 3 would start there playoff as normal on the Monday following the season...thoughts????????????/
BTW before going crazy...this will probably never happen...just a thought ha ha

I like the idea of two 6 team divisions as well. That would also allow for a more balanced schedule with each team playing 18 games with divisional opponents and 12 with the other division. The wild cards could still be used but maybe with the 2 non division champs with the best record regardless of division.

I went 12-0 versus a wildcard team and lost in the finals. Yes that does seem to happen quite a bit. At least against me.

That stuff used to happen to me too. Not so much anymore for some reason.
