Two weeks and change left in the season, but no doubt with 18 HRs in 33 games his 2017 SOM card will be an all-time classic. The glorious wonders possible with a small sample size and a batter having his first exposure to NL pitching staffs before they identify and exploit his weaknesses. But, I can't wait to see that card!

Of course now that you've said this, he's 0-for the rest of the season.

WOW I've know there must have been guy who have hit 9, 10 or 11 in a similar number of plate appearances although I can't name any of the top of my head but for some reason Dave Kingman 1971 is ringing in my head. But 18 that's insane. So as of right now Hoskins has 18 homers in 147 plate appearances, 26 walks, none intentional but I bet he'll get walked a lot more as pitchers are more cautious and probe for weaknesses. By the way his slash line as of today is .314/.442/.805 and his OPS is 1.247 Unbelievable!!!! Good luck kid!

Wow that was a great start for Spencer. I checked Kingman and he only hit 6 homers in 115 at bats in 1971. Still a good showing but nothing like Hoskins and Spencer.

Just finished a playoff run with him on my '17 team. Over 11 games he went just 6 for 39, with 7 BB's and one homer. Conversely, between the time his card lit up and the conclusion of our regular season, I got 15 games out of him, during which he went 17 for 53 with 9 walks and 9 homers.

bright spot in another pretty bad year if your a phils fan. hes already walked quite a bit and obviously will fall off this pace, but he did hit a lot in the minors, so its not as if this is completely out of the blue.

I posted his amazing stats on Sep 15th. Since then, he has been cursed by our attention to his heroics.
Since September 14 (the date of his last home run), Hoskins has only managed to hit .135/.256/.216 with no home runs, three extra base hits and twelve strikeouts in 43 plate appearances
