PostWed Jan 17, 2018 3:20 pm

Should I change Belle and Puckett out for other Players. What moves should I make?

Caveat: This is coming from a mediocre player, who doesn't know what the other teams in your division are like, or who's available.
1. I hate Puckett, Tejada, Knoblauch, and Lee in Dunn.
2. I think you can do better for less $ at 1B than Helton.
3. I think you can do better than O'Neill, wherever you're planning to play him.
4. Belle doesn't bother me too much, but you lack really good lefty bats, and you're playing in the most heavily lefty ballpark there is.

Just my 2 cents.

Good luck!

Couple things I would look at before making any suggestions.
1. whats the ratio of L/R SP in your league and your division (double count your division foe's as you face them 2x as much)
2. which way do the other parks lean?
I typically come up with a league average park and then base my roster first, on my home park and then second, on the league 'average' park

But what I can say with the park you have is definitely more lefty pop would help. If you're going to have righty power hitters, like Belle, make sure they have a good number of pure HR's on their card. Belle has some good options across his 4 cards so he might be a guy to hold onto. Lefties with pop, especially against LHP would be a good get. Musial, Charleston...but they are high dollar and tend to be popular.

Good luck

McCovey if you can get him. If not, Mize can work well

So defense and injury status don't matter?

Awesome team name and I agree you need a few lefties. McCovey is awesome and defense at the conners is over rated. In some ways I find Dunn to be more of a small ball park since the HR for LHH is only 10. I still like Earle Combs in a place like Dunn. You really cannot bet his value.

Just take advice with a gain of salt and build your own team.

McCovey ‘69, if he’s available for 1B.

As I read your team, it looks like you are trying for low or no injury guys with excellent D.
In your park (and there are several lefty parks, a couple HR parks, and a couple pitcher parks in your league), I will suggest you may wish a few more LH bats with possible pop.

Consider these options:
2b Knob is a misfit. Iwamura 4.04 and Schoendienst 4.32 both with no games missed, better D.
3b Ventura 4.74 is a option if you want to save a buck for a 3 game injury risk
DH/OF Stargell will hit much better than Belle in your park at 7.06 (3 game in risk) and has a -4 arm. Billy Williams 7.05 is no injury and better range.
CF - Turkey Stearnes, Duke Snider, Vada Pinson are some of my favorite LH cf, but there are many options
1b : as noted, mccovey is a very good buy (I use the 7.45 or cheaper), other great options with no injury depending on price point (descending order) include Gehrig, Musial, Yaz, Mattingly, Cooper, Howard, Terry.

I also think you need at least one more RP worth something, especially with a VERY cheap 4th starter.

Best of luck with your team :!:
