Best Way to Counter "All-Offense" Teams?

The question is in the title...What is the best way to counter teams that went for all offense? I just drafted and 2/4 in my division have tiny payrolls for pitching and went all out on hitters. Is picking up premier pitching a good counter to it? or is trying to out-hit them going to work?

Well if you try to outhit them, you will not have a team catered to fit in your home park, and they'll still be better offensively than you when you play in theirs. I think a strong bullpen helps........

I drafted weak starters, very strong bullpen. my park is the 8-8-8-8 one so I can be pretty flexible with my roster. you think strong starters will make a difference?

Hard to say without a link to your team.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1479290Thanks for any advice you can give! Now that you can see my team, I am worrying that my hitting (obviously) isnt good enough to out-score my fellow division teams, so i figured maybe its a waste of money and i should just go for an all-pitching team. that way at least the 50% of the time it lands on the pitchers card, it is a sure out

You have some very good players (beckwith, delahanty...), but IMO you are over-invested in bullpen. I would recommend replacing 2 or 3 of your RPs with Lefty/Right specialist relievers like Andy Hassler (7L) or Frank Linzy (9R). You will still have a pretty strong pen after that and you can use the extra salary cap to upgrade at some of your weaker positions (i.e., catcher or starting pitcher). Good luck!

Thank you for the advice! I really wasnt sure if i would even need 4 or 5 relievers for the whole season. Assuming my starters only last about 5 innings, i figured i would go on the higher end. but i try to trim it down before the season starts, thank you!

Yes, I suggested a strong pen, not one on Steroids.
I think a good pen can help counter a Bomber team, but I don't think I'd tailor MY team to fit someone else's park. You still need some good SP and more rounded lineup to play well in YOUR park.

Right now you're not going to score enough to play "come from behind" ball with those cheap starters. Way too much money invested in bullpen.
