Let's have a contest - Worst Playoff Bad Beat

Just like at poker tournaments, where there's always the guy who busted out with a full house to a gutshot river straight flush, we've all had our share of bad beats in the playoffs. Since I just experienced my worst one in my entire twelve year online SOM career, thought this might be a good time to cry in each other's beers.

Best record in league by 8 games...but then the injuries start:
Willie McCovey - 15 games - game 161
Joe DiMaggio - 15 game injury - Game 2 Semis
Nap Lajoie - 10 game injury - Game 5 Semis

Even with all that, had a 3-0 lead in the semis. Lost the next two on the road, go into Game 6 missing 40% of my lineup salary.

Despite all the injuries, take a 5-4 lead into the 9th with Newhouser on the mound. Turkey at the plate, runners 2nd and 3rd, two out. Turkey rolls a 4-9. Let's see what Newhouser's card says: 1-1 single, 2-20 lineout. 2-run single, game over - he hit the 1-1 chance to win the game. Get blown out in game 7, and it's a 3-0 collapse to out of the playoffs.

Sambito retires 1st 2 batters, Gaylord Perry (1962) gives up 5-9 rolls to Cedeno (single) and Nettles (double) to end game.

A demoralized team loses 6-3 @ home in game 5....at least I picked up a credit for winning division!
