at any position for a starter? thinking of trying Hafner at 1B

As soon as I read the question, he popped into my mind as I have seen him used on more than one occasion. Doc Prothro sometimes gets used at 3B also in smaller cap leagues.

curious if his hitting (thinking of using in Penmar) can overcome a 5 fielding rating? anyone used him?

I have used him. There are 1B with a 4 rating but higher error rating (such as 20 or higher) that I would be more concerned about using

I agree that at 1B, error rating is more of a factor than is range. A 5e13 is more reliable than a 4e20+ would be. Plus Hafber hits like a 9 mil guy.
