Tony Fernandez Report

PostSat Feb 01, 2020 6:55 pm

Apparently Tony Fernandez is in critical condition after having a clot removed from his leg earlier today. Tony had been diagnosed with a kidney disease back in 2017.

Imrad Hallim, director and co-founder of the Tony Fernandez Foundation, confirmed to The Canadian Press that Fernandez recently developed pneumonia and was placed in an induced coma in an effort to stabilize him.
This is being reported in Toronto newspapers.

Let's hope for the best.

I’m a huge Tony Fernandez fan and I used to think he was the best shortstop I ever saw (all due respect to Ozzie, Omar and others) until I saw Andrelton Simmons play. But he’s still a huge favorite of mine. I hope he bounces back. Godspeed Cabeza.

MLB hasn't reported this yet, but Yahoo and others have picked it up: https://sports.yahoo.com/blue-jays-lege ... 04584.html
