Swapping out injured card with different year of same player

I believe Strat allows you to drop an ATG player card that suffered an injury with a different year of the same player without having the injury carry over. Of course, you would have whatever drop penalty your league imposes.
Is that ethical? Is it like the super reliever rule - hey, if the software allows it it must be ok?
Or is it frowned upon?

Others may disagree, but I have no problem with it.

I have found that it is an acceptable strategy. If you don't like the process play in Salary caps 140 or less. In the live draft leagues over 200 mil you usually have excess salary left over which can be used for this purpose. I used to poll the leagues that I'm in prior to doing the player switch but found little to no opposition.

If you don't like the process play in a salary cap that is low making the switch cost prohibitive. Or you could form a league and disclose that the league does not allow switching cards for injuries.

Not sure this is in the spirit of the game. I don't do it and get peeved when others do

I do it when I have to. I try to do it as much as possible when I'm in a league with DGF.

Same player, different card, is ultimately a different card.

As long as the free agent penalty is applied (however the league is set up), I think it's fine.

Agree with Frankie. It's fine.

That said, I've not done it, and don't plan to. There are a zillion cards, why pick another season from the same player?
