Fielding question

On the team fielding tab, shouldn't all fielders Xouts + Errors = (or exceed because of throwing errors) Xtotal chances? I am finding (and I just noticed this  ) the Xtotal is greater, what am I missing?

I have the same question, as I just finally noticed the same thing. Anyone? And can someone jog my memory how an outfielder might commit a throwing error in the board game?

Thanks.

The remainder would be hits allowed off the X-chart that were not accompanied by errors.

The way I look at it

X tot = the total number of X chances (outs + hits+ errors)

X outs = the number of outs the fielder made on X chances

As Austin said the remainder of the X tot that were not outs fell as hits

Thanks for the replies. But I realize I should've included a bit more info.

Looking back on some teams, I came across an instance where Tommy Henrich had 45 X-outs on 46 x-chances, but he had 5 errors that season too. To me, it seems like there are 4 errors unaccounted for in the stats. So is my assumption correct that they're throwing errors? And if so, how does the board game create those situations (I know catcher throwing errors involve the T rating, but am unaware of anything for outfielders)?

Thanks again,

That's correct nait, some errors do not originate from the X-chart but rather from the Max rules. https://stratomatic365.fandom.com/wiki/Maximum_Rules

Aha! That's exactly the answer I was looking for. And would also explain the "foulout to 2B" I recently witnessed in a game.

Thanks for sharing the link! I was not aware of the maximum rules til now.
