Barnstormers SuperRelievers

Just noticed that amongst the 4 finalist for the Barnstormers tour, 3 of the 4 teams used SuperRelievers--Burke, Sutter, and Murray--who amassed a ton of wins and saves and innings.

Will be interesting to see if the new reliever rules will have that much effect. My sense is that given the value, that those 3 bullpen studs bring to the table, that the simple solution is to raise their salary to upwards of 10 mill--clearly they are worth that when you look at the results......

That was my suggestion all along....let salary dictate usage. Instead, we get yet another "black box" of BS that we can't see.

Yep, been saying the same thing for a while. Jack their prices up and if people wanna use them, they gotta pay the price. If Murray is "better" than Maddux which frankly he is sometimes, then his price should be $12 million.

When you have to decide between having Honus Wagner 6.55 and a 5.45 mill reliever on your roster or just Murray, you'll think twice.

The super reliever concern for me is at caps $100 million and below.....if you make $140 cap the amount for semis and finals then the super reliever concern becomes less and less a factor.

Perhaps the new ATG9 restrictions will change some of that??

Agree with Rich. Let the market rule in this arena.

Agree with Steve--I don't like the black box. The ATG-8 bullpen mechanics needed to be fixed. To be sure. But they had the upside of being fairly clear. Hopefully the new mechanics will be similarly clear. Fingers crossed.
