Please set the default to '1901 to 2000'

Pulling the pre-1901 players out of the default set was a great idea. They're available if you want them, but the game is now more focused on true Major League baseball.

Let's take the next step and set aside the post-2000 players. Like the pre-1901 guys, it's nice to have them available, but they do not fit into the context on a historical game.

These guys were voted into the game by us - taking them out is insulting to have as the default-
that should be what excludes them- this isn't person - they were already voted on and in.

Pre-1901 cards were not "removed" from ATG. In fact, you can select and play those cards in a live draft league that is filling right now (ATG9 Goes Live!)

The cards voted on should be the default option and eliminating them should be the drop down- I feel like a giant 'DUH' Is warranted here

I completely disagree with the idea of pulling the post-2000 players out of the default set. Some of those players are already in the hall-of-fame. I would have left the pre-1901 players in the default set, but I'm sure they had a lot of input asking for them to be excluded.

im particularly baffled bc we all voted on whether each of these guys should be included-
the big set should be the default and if people want to play without given cards they can do that.
otherwise it takes away the purpose of having voted on them in the first place.

Why not set the default to from 1947-1962??

No, pulling those guys out of the set was a really bad idea. As Salt says we voted those guys in and the complete set should be the default. I brought up the notion of an unleashed set for the Gates Browns of the world. This was not an idea that I supported or will support. Almost as bad an idea as including the Japanese players some years ago. Hopefully those who prefer the truncated set play only that set.

Hey, I see Riggo Shill wants to get rid of the post 2000 players too. I have an idea :!: Why stop there. Get rid of all the seasons after the dh was put in place since that would seem to pass your litmus test of not being "true ML baseball", then take out the 60's period where they changed the rules for five years to favor pitchers, then get rid of all those shameful pre Jackie Robinson seasons. That should leave you a good 15 years to play "true" major league baseball. You could even guarantee doing well by just entering 12 teams in each league and playing with yourself, or even better invite Radagast Brown to play with you in those leagues and have at each other.

Okay Boomer..... Would you like some cheese with your wine?

Droid, don't get mad because I am better than you. You've played the same set 2000 times, you should be better than the average players you go against every Friday ...... Besides, what does this have to do with me?

weren't you just whining to high heaven about why your question wasn't getting answered...
not that you were being hypocritical or anything, but this would also be the reason.

Have a pleasant day.
