NON-carded franchise league

Description: This is a NOT, NOT a carded franchise league. This is a Played FRANCHISE LEAGUE, you can pick any player that played at least one game for your franchise. Must have played not just be on a team (example M. Betts is on Dodgers but yet to play so Dodgers can’t pick him.) Another Example: Roger Maris only has a Yankee card but he played for the Indians, Yanks, A’s, and Cards so any of those teams can pick him. You can use any card though. Baseball Reference.com is a good source to use. You will have to put some work into this. Some of our weaker teams have some good players that played for them. The Yankees, Red Sox, Negro League players and pre 1900 players (with cards from pre 1900 Baltimore O's and Philadelphia A's, Wolverines, Troy, Maroons, Hartford, Louisville and Boston Red Stockings) will be FA. Everyone should get a good FA. (Mantle, Gehrig, Gibson, Williams, etc.) These players can be picked up if the have played for your franchise but if they are not picked up with the initial draft then they are FA. If a player has played for your franchise and played for the Yankees or Redsox and is not drafted then anyone can pick them up at Waivers and FA. Also, make sure you do your research. Many players have the same name but not the same player. (many Frank Thomas but only one you would want) Also watch the years of the franchise. Ed Seward played for the A’s but the current franchise didn’t start until 1901 so the A’s team couldn’t pick him up. SO in order to pick up a player they must have played for your franchise on or after their initial start date.(listed next to team)

Pick on of the team combos from this list:
1)Dodgers(1884)/Angels(1961)
2)Tigers(1901)/Expos/National(1969)/Padres(1969)
3)Whitesox(1901)/Rangers(1961)
4)Indians(1901)/Marlins(1993)
5)Pirates(1882)/Mariners(1977)
6)Reds(1901)/Royals(1969)/Rockies(1993)
7)Cubs(1876)/O’s(1901)
8)Cards(1882)/Brewers(1969)
9)A’s(1901)/Mets(1962)
10)Giants(1883)/D-Backs(1998)
11)Phillies(1883)/Astros(1962)/Twins(1901)
12)Braves(1876)/Bluejays (1977)/Rays(1998)

NO franchises can be duplicated. If you get a HIgh priced player (who didn't play for your franchise) you must drop them before waivers. So if the A’s end up with Bonds and since Bonds can go to Giants or Pirates he must be dropped before waivers. Then only the Giants and Pirates can pick him up. Trades are OK as long as both teams own the players. Please use your team’s names in your name. Also you must use a franchise ballpark. Please draft fairly. If, following the original draft, your team has a player that shouldn't be there and didn't have a good reason to be there (like missing out on a player eligible for your team), then there will be a substantial penalty like forfeiting a player or waiver pick as a penalty. If you have any questions please ask. Luker
