HAL's Survey that emailed out to everyone

This is what I put at the bottom of my survey in the comments section:

I would like to see a PC version of ATG 9 which has the entire same player set with SALARY structure. Integrating the salary structure of ATG9 into a computerized player set would be HUGE!!!! I would pay $89 for such a PC version.....I think this would be a HUGE seller for you....it would get online players to buy your CD game + it would bring your computer customers to come play ATG 9 online....win/win for you and your customers....but it ONLY works if it has the salary structure and then you can set different cap levels for different leagues......it would be BEAUTIFUL....WHAT better way to celebrate your 60th Anniversary ?!?!

IF.....another say 20 to 30 of us included similar types of requests in the comment section of the survey.....who knows....they might actually listen to us.

How cool would it be to be able to model ATG 9 leagues on the PC and then play teams online?.....it would improve and grow the community!....it would revolutionize the PC version to include salaries and they could BETA test it just with ATG 9 to see if it's a big hit and success before considering adding it to other products and year sets.

First blush is it could be revolutionary in a number of ways besides the clear advantage of expanding customers. Live play could be very cool as it would afford the control we all seek. Would also add a little more personalization and humanity to it that seems less prevalent than it used to be (ie recent thread on good ol days).

Technology used to be the limiting factor, now it may be imagination for a next-generation SOM.

The MLB licensing model for this kind of player NIL usage may be unworkable price-wise for an individually owned piece of software (as compared to the on-demand platform the online game is). There are some attorneys out there who could comment in better detail.

You may be right, but that shouldn't stop us from requesting it in the comment area of the survey and let legal minds figure it out later. I know years back on PlayStation around year 1999, there were several baseball software simulations that used salaries and were MLB sanctioned at that time.....also for the past 25 years Baseball Mogul software has allowed salaries for their MLB players and it is NOT net based and it is MLB sanctioned and licensed....so there must be some sort of work around.

I'm totally Mac, if anyone cares. :ugeek:

I didn't get this survey mail, and I remember a looong time ago when SOM made Mac compatible games, but then quit doing so. Just to rub a festering sore, I don't know why anyone would use a PC when a Mac is around. :D

1969 Online set returned is a more realistic request

If you read the survey it is regarding improvements to their card sets and PC game it is NOT for online products

Great idea NB! I will fill out the survey and add the comment text you've posted.

That said, a larger issue here is why the F did Strat post a Baseball survey that completely ignores the online version of the game. :?:  :!:
