Not true at all.
My $80M league that just wrapped I lost in the finals to a team with all SP under $6 mil. Mine were all $4-8 mil.
I have a team right now 35-19 and I spent just over $8 mil TOTAL on starting pitching.
And as I look right now, a team leading another league I'm in is doing a fun all-Indians theme team with all SP between 4-8 mil.
Somebody explain to me why you need more than 2 roles per reliever unless you're using a super reliever strategy. I've never used more than 2, and I've never had trouble getting HAL to manage my bullpen the way I want.
Summary of ATG 9 changes (IMO):
1. R3-R5 relievers are more expensive
2. SP is cheaper, especially $3-7 mil
3. 3B is cheaper
4. all the favorite nickel players had their price jacked up
5. If you had strategies/value plays in ATG that you were married to, you may experience some frustration
I will miss some of the old values. Used to love sticking Orta in a starting 2b spot for 53 cents, now his price doubled and it's not worth it, he's the same price as Gantner. And love the strategy or hate it, it was fun to use Dale Murray and Sutter. But I enjoy the challenge of finding new values and team builds.
