I am very new gto SOM (started in March) but it surprises me how many people appear to be playing this game from New Orleans or nearby. I am very near to New Orleans myself, but since we have never had a major league team I wouldn't have thought so many would be playiing Strat.

Could be with no team of their own baseball fans there are more inclined to gravitate to fantasy baseball and games like strat as they do not have other options to invest time in.
