Cheap, three-headed catching platoon for power park

I used the often-injured but cheap Del Rice (2.12M) and similar Dick Brown (1.85M), with a cheap Buck Martinez (.51M) as a defensive sub for the brittle Rice and Brown. Result of the three-headed platoon: 60 home runs, 146 RBIs, only four errors. Rice has a 6 injury roll and Brown a 5. Rice lost 23 games to injury (27 HRs), and Brown lost 47 games to injury (still, 31 HRs). Ol' Buck had 2 homers.

All for just 4.48M. True, a Johnny Blanchard (4.88) might do that alone in a platoon power park setting, but just saying as platoons go ... ;)

Love that Johnny Blanchard card...I dont think he has done quite that well for me, though. That's a very impressive trifecta.

The ONLY 4 errors part is the most amazing stat, apparently NO ONE tried to run on you all season long because otherwise you'd have had 20+ throwing errors with that combo.

LOL, it was a crapshoot. My other strategy was to have 3 8N pitchers as it was a non-DH league. Didn't matter much, only got 6 home runs from those guys -- but I picked them for low to no-ballpark homers pitching-card-wise AND 8N :) Not saying this was a great team, but just an intriguing catcher platoon for the ballpark and rest of division context (Shea '71, Cleveland '51, Coors '05.) I was Polo Grounds '41.

I like it. But Why have martinez at all given the 1 injury rule for catchers?

The 1961 Blanchard card in the 60's mystery set is insanely better against lefties than the ATG card.
