I'll preface this by saying this is a HAL question. no elaboration needed. F settings followed by the slow option. example F8 vs F8 w/slow. your pitcher reaches F8 then according to the Book of HAL, what is supposed to happen

AFAIK it was not changed in BP v3: That is, the fatigue "Do Not Relieve Before" settings still override the Slow/Quick hook settings

SOM Wiki from BP v2
"Don't Relieve Before

For each individual pitcher, you can indicate that you don't want him taken out for another reliever unless he has reached a certain Pitch Count Fatigue level. He may be lifted for a pinch-hitter if he is due to bat before his designated fatigue level, if the computer manager feels it is appropriate. This setting overrides all others, e.g. the pitcher will not "Avoid Left-Handed Batters" or be restricted to "Max 6 IP for start" if he hasn't reached his designated fatigue level. "

I thought the quick/slow could work in conjunction with the F settings. So if I set a pitcher as quick hook, but also as do not relieve before F5 (just for a number) he will continue to go until he reaches F5, but then HAL should pull him right away. And if I set as do not relieve before F5 and slow hook, I would anticipate HAL would let him get to F5, but then he might let him go a bit longer (the slow hook).

That is possible. Add it to the list of known unknowns, and when accompanied by all the unknown unknowns, I guess it makes the game more "realistic"...

I have no idea. And the shroud of uncertainty on simple documentation like this is befuddling.

No do not relieve before F5 means just that, HAL looks at fatigue says its F6 you stay in, once it hits F5 HAL will decide based on his theories of how the inning should be played. You may get pitch hit for and pulled at F6 while batting, but you won't be pulled in a game at f6 while pitching they will stay in. Put your entire starting rotation to F0 in a DH league with 9 inning pitchers and it will be rare to be pulled, even at F0
