A nod to The Last Druid

I wanted to post about Radagast Brown's personal attack on The Last Druid, but that thread was quickly locked, as it should've been. Might as well delete it, STRAT, because it's misinformation at the very least. So, I'll say here that The Last Druid is a good-hearted man, very generous to help out others like me, always willing to be open and welcoming to offer advice and support, and incredibly astute at this game. He is a formidable competitor, I totally respect his prowess, and I think he's the very best. I don't understand why people like the above have vendettas. Makes them look small and pitiful. That said, let's rock on with positivity and true insightfulness for all the rest of us! The magic of the Druid's deep, dark woods will always prevail.

I will second those words and would like to add that his presence in ATG through the years has made it much more enjoyable. From his consistent high-level competition to his thoughtful and thought evoking post he has elevated this game of ours. Happy new year Bruce.

I agree. Bruce has always been helpful with me over the years. We have not played many leagues together, but whenever I ask advice he is always willing to help. I have also received excellent advice from many other players, too. My good friend, azaverella for one. Nev Dully, The Tall Guy 747, and Frank Bailey have also offered spot on advice when asked.
There was another veteran way back when I first started, I think his name was Grindy, or Gringy or something like that. He used to tweak the Sporting News folks pretty good and I think they kicked him out. He was always willing to help and I always appreciated how the Vets helped me back then too.
Perhaps Mr Brown would offer advice as well. All I know is that The Last Druid has always helped me when asked. He rocks.

I bet Radagast Brown has never offered advice or helped anyone. That says a lot. And yet he blathers on about social justice and attacks people. Totally contrary to the human-oriented, compassionate focus that he says he espouses. Utterly hypocritical.

Should we start a petition to remove Radagast Brown from the Boards?

MR Brown makes some valid criticism about the systemic racism that poisons our society and very interesting arguments about comparing ballplayers of today v ballplayers of other eras. He tends to use the "sledgehammer approach" when making his points but none of that is the issue. The personal attack on Druid is just plain out of line and for me diminishes anything else he has to say.

As much as I didn't like the post he made about Druid I would not support such a petition to ban him from the boards. His style offends but agree or disagree with his opinions he has right to throw them out for discussion.

How is it a "personal attack"? His post is focused solely on Druid's skills related to this game. I don't see any personal attacks. It's not a post I would make but it seems like it falls within the realm of general ball-busting that is common to fantasy sports. OTOH, Druid himself made a similar post in the Barnstormers forum a few days ago calling out another player that included multiple personal attacks. It's been deleted, either by the poster or a mod. Druid has also doxxed RB in the past and brought up RB's alleged criminal history and other unflattering personal details. RB is a griefer and a troll and he probably shouldn't make posts calling out individual players if he doesn't have a good relationship with those players, but I've never seen him say anything personal about Druid (from what I've seen he's always just taunting him about not playing a bigger variety of sets), whereas I've learned way more about RB's personal life from Druid's posts than I'm comfortable knowing.
edit: I guess RB has probably called Druid a racist, if that counts as personal. But dude calls everyone a racist. Just wanted to clarify that I mean personal in the sense of specific details about one's personal life.

RB has called many people, including the Druid, a racist. Just because they don't agree with him. Stupid. And yes, calling someone a racist is personal when you have no empirical facts whatsoever. It's an easy -- and lazy -- personal attack, and RB's been doing it a long time. What goes around comes around.

If what goes around comes around then the reprisal for being called a racist would be a similarly half-assed ad hominem insult in return, not a detailed reporting of his full name, criminal history, and financial situation.
