run prevention at $140

PostFri Feb 25, 2022 6:09 am

So I just finished the regular season in this $140 league: https://365.strat-o-matic.com/league/stats/teams/458203

3.47 team ERA, can't recall seeing anything below 4 at $140 before. More than a full run better than second place. 1.19 WHIP. Feel like those numbers would be impressive even at lower caps. Hell, even the average $60 team gives up 4.7 runs a game.

Then I remembered, I have a database of 500 ATG9 leagues (from the start of ATG9 until late 2020), so I went to see the lowest runs allowed at $140. My 640 is indeed the lowest allowed at $140 DH. However, two teams got under that figure with no DH. And one of them played in Cleveland 1971 1-6-20-20! And the other one had $6 million worth of drops in a 5% penalty league! Talk about outliers...

Anybody else got my 640 beat at $140?

Closest I’ve come is this one. https://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1659726

631 Er but a 3.93 ERa. (687 total runs allowed).
That league also had some weird rules. (2 left handed pitchers were paid and every team had to draft a pair and keep them- Johnson and McNally for me). On top of that you couldn’t take any hitters over 7m which led to a lot of platooning.

Also no DH

Bunch of replies disappeared on this post. Why?

Anyhow, just a $110M league, I have this cool pitching team headed by P. Martinez and Kershaw, team 3.41 ERA after 147 games: https://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1667337

$135 cap 668r 622er 3.87era 1.21 whip.

I have a $125 one under 3 but that league was slanted towards pitching. Ballpark and hitters had restrictions

Hack Wilson, I checked the Moderator Log to see if there are deleted posts from this thread. cureALS deleted his own post on 2/26. That's it. FYI, MaxPower is unable to delete posts other than his own. And then, like all posters, only if no one has posted after him.
