thought Hal doesnt injure a player who is in the lineup for a injured player and there are no other players eligible at that position on the roster..last night Studer who was playing because Parrish was injured, was injured and replaced by Koenig who is SS eligible only

Don’t believe that is a general rule. Applies only to catchers.

That's how I believe it works outside of catchers as well.
It's not only injuries, HAL will pinch hit or pinch run for a player who is the last eligible player at his particular position, resulting in a player in a defensive position for which he's not rated.

Yup believe it is just catchers in terms of injury protection, or did someone say it extends to other positions? I haven't seen that but of course it isn't documented anywhere so anything is possible.
But if you're carrying two catchers with one catching and one DHing, he won't necessarily move the DH to C if the primary C gets injured in that game.
