Question on Super Advanced Fielding Chart

PostThu Jun 23, 2022 9:54 am

Hi

Have been playing for a couple of years, so should have asked this awhile ago. On the super advanced fielding chart, if I am reading it correct, the following should the rough percentage of the time an infielder gives up a "hit" on an x-roll:

Range 1: 0% (0 out of 20)
Range 2: 10% (2 out of 20)
Range 3: 20% (5 out of 20)
Range 4: 30% (6 out of 20)
Range 5: 40% (8 out of 20)

How can you tell from the chart where you have to do an additional role for an error (where the E rating comes into play)?

Here is the chart I am referencing. Any help would be much appreciated!

And one other question on E rating...When I look at the chart for SS's, it looks like an e27 is actually worse than an e34. Both have four error possibilities, but the 27 has two chances for a 2 base error, while the 34 only has one. I feel slightly baffled by this as well (it is a twenty sided dice, correct?).

You always roll a 20-sided die and 3 6-sided dice. The 20 sided die basically determines hit or not based on fielder's range and the sum of the 3 6- sided dice determine errors.

For a ss with e27, the errors are for rolls of 3,12,17, and 18. That's 30 chances out of 216. For an e34 the errors are for 13, 15, 18, and 16. That's 38 chances out of 216.

Did not know that on the six sided dice (thought it was one 20 sided)--that explains it.

Very helpful, thank you!
