This is the sequel to the original No Studs, No Slugs, Countdown league. The goal of this format is to eliminate formula teams. If you prefer to keep using the same teams over and over, this is not the league for you. This league also makes cheap platoons much much much harder to succeed with. If you are used to winning with Mike Blowers and Jordy Mercer, look elsewhere, they aren't included in the player set.
In my opinion, this league format really balances the playing field and removes "formula teams" that have shown to succeed previously. It's highly unlikely that you'll be able to copy a past team here, so you'll be forced to think it through and work with what you've got. Plenty of players to choose from, can you make it work?
One major clarification to the rules:
You MUST draft AND roster a pitcher (any kind) AND a hitter at each of the following salary slots:
9.99-9.00m
8.99-8.00m
7.99-7.00m
6.99-6.00m
5.99-5.00m
4.99-4.00m
3.99-3.00m
2.99-2.00m
The remainder of your roster must be players at or below 0.99m.
In other words, you'll have a pitcher and a hitter in the 9m range, a pitcher and a hitter in the 8m range, etc....and your remaining roster will all be 0.99m or less players.
This roster requirement MUST be maintained at all times, from your initial draft list, throughout waiver period, and throughout the entire season. The last league, it wasn't until opening night that you were required to maintain the roster format. This time, no stashing players in the draft. You have to stay within the roster guidelines at all times.
(Obviously we won't quibble about a 5.99m player being drafted after missing a 6.00m player, but that much will be pretty obvious. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO DRAFT CORRECTLY FOR THIS TO WORK AND TO AVOID ARGUING.)
There is a custom player set for this league that has removed players 10.00m and above as well as those between 1.00-1.99m.
The 125m cap is set to allow you to make changes without abandoning your team.
Sorry for all the yelling at you in CAPS, but I wanted to be sure a few rules were clear. It's really not very complicated, and it is really fun and refreshing if you're used to playing the normal sets and rules.
