Another Game Glitch

PostFri Aug 05, 2022 7:26 am

I had another game glitch that has me frustrated. A few months back I posted a error in a game when Skip Schumacher had a roll of 3-5 and it was recorded as an out but is actually a double. A few responded to the post and were also stymied as to the reason and it was suggested I try "contact us." Well I never got a response.

So here we go again. This time with King Kelly on a 1-5 roll in the bottom of the 8th in a game I lost in the 13th eliminating me in a playoff semi-final. 1-5 is a Triple 1-3, Double 4-20.

So this is not right and undermines some of basics of what you expect out of the game. While I don't think we have reached WestWorld level I must say it leaves me wondering. I bet this is not the only event and it has happened to others.

So any suggestions? This event could lead to my retirement.

Isn't the 1-8 in the bottom of the 1st also problematic. Unless I am misreading the card, I do not see a pop out on Kelly.

I guess that 1-8 can be chalked up to a clutch roll, upon a second glance.

Checked this out for King Kelly in the 8th, it's totally weird! Does not compute. Geez.

I wonder it this is due to 1) super advanced rules or a black box of some kind, or 2) a typo, where SOM doesn't somehow display (or make) the correct roll. We think the markings of the rolls are infallible, but wondering if they have a glitch and make mistakes. Believe me, I don't think the SOM codes are perfect, few -- if any -- codes are perfect. Could be this. But it totally sucks, because all we know from our user end is the reflection of their codes. Grrrr...

HackI agree very unsettling. I this is my second time in the last few months and I think it is very possible I could missed previous events. The first time I still won the game. This one potentially knocked me out of at game 6 of a Barnstormers semi-final.

How do we know that guarding lines isn't in effect? I haven't seen that listed anywhere by SOM even though a few people say that.

This is the evidence. It’s very tenuous. Guarding lines is part of the doubles/triples option and not enabled IF this wiki is accurate.

thanks. Yes, it does appear that is the what the Wiki says.

I still think that the most likely call is that somehow that feature is enabled because in both the kelly and schumaker examples, doubles turned into GB outs in late innings of a tie game. I find that defensive rule to be a more likely outcome than to have 2 different cards both miscoded to turn doubles into ground outs, but this only appeared in a situation where the defense would be guarding lines.
