Thoughts on changing ballparks post waiver?

In a league I'm currently running that opens tonight, one manager changed his ballpark following the waiver draft. I messaged him that such a change was not allowed as it could give managers an unfair advantage. It is his contention that the rule that states: "In an Auto List Draft league, you choose your ballpark before you join a league, and once your league fills and the draft is run, you may not change your ballpark" should be literally construed and that while YOU may not change your park, it's perfectly fair and acceptable for you to have strat change it FOR you between waivers and opening night. He says he sees in in leagues all the time. My understanding was to get strat to change your ballpark, your choice had to be out of line with league rules. Is anyone else seeing this "all the time" or even occasionally?

very rarely, and usually only to get in compliance with some league rule. I would side with you on this one. I think you could drop a quick note to support and hope they get at it tonight because it does give managers an unfair advantage to choose their park once they have seen the league.

Agree. Only in exceptional circumstances should a ballpark be changed after the draft.

The semantic distinction between "you" changing your ballpark and having strat change it for you is an impressive stretch. "Impressive" as in the most preposterous thing I've ever heard in my life. No, this is not a thing that is done.

Stretch indeed. Never saw this happen except for a theme league when everyone was on board to correct an error. Besides the Barnstoormer occasional one, but in that case Moose keeps everyone informed.
Agree with Matt...you can replace a lot of the rules using that semantic deconstruction. And by you I mean you.
SOM should not have changed it. Unless maybe if he was the league commish.
Who is the player?

I asked Strat to change it back yesterday but they haven't responded.

I'm the commissioner. I don't want to name names, it's a manager I've played with a lot and never had any kind of problem with. I'll just add a boilerplate to my league rules that once the auto draft is completed teams may not change ballparks unless their current ballpark is out of compliance with league rules.

I pulled a hamstring just trying to think about making that stretch.

Well you are a good guy gamiam
I could never play with someone who used that kind of dishonest logic for the sake of a game

The commissioner, the one who set the league up, can make stadium changes for the league without going to support 365.
Unless the one who made the change is the commissioner, have the commissioner change the stadium back to the original one.
