Barnstormers Tour--Over/Under for Top 92 and Top 8 Cutoffs

PostThu Sep 08, 2022 5:08 pm

Whaddya think for the top 8 and top 92 cutoffs?

Top 92 is maybe averaging between 80-85 points per five counted events, and Top 8 typically requires averaging 100+ points per each of the five events that count. But 5 or 10 points can make a huge difference.

Actually, even someone positioned down at say position 50 before event 6 could have a shot at Top 8 if they rock event 6 and were carrying a really poor lowest event till now, and of course need some help in the positions above but it could happen. The swing can be dramatic and the standings typically change a great deal toward the back end of event 6, so hopefully everyone keeps playing.
I had just such a scenario last year--I thought I had no chance but then had a monster event 6 and there came a point that with every late season event 6 win I was moving up a place or two because others were "maxed out" (no relation to Max Power).

So, buckle up, semis is in reach for everyone and the top 8 are nowhere close to set except maybe Lab, cristano and Max...and good luck!
Thanks again for a great Tour Moose!

cheers

Last two tours have had a top 90 cut-off in the low to mid-430s. I've shuffled somewhat in this year's tour (after making the semis my first two). If you take my likely top four events through five, probably looking at a score around 340 or so. Still can get in if I get a score somewhere in the 90s in Event 6. Lots of people have a chance.

I pretty much only play ATG in Barnstormers because it's a great tournament...

So, one of last year's Finals finalists, dinsdale is in the type of position I was referring to--a person who is carrying a single low point event and still strongly in the mix. He has been climbing continually and now is in the top 10 riding on a playoff team in the finals, a current team with a .642 win %, and yet is carrying a 74-win team from an earlier event. Great position.

Others in similar ideal potential situation to do a boomerang to a finals berth (not all-inclusive):
justicej
MochaDog
watershark1967
Toyboys (if event 5 team turns around--could be massive upswing with a strong event 6)
BC15NY

Of course, that doesn't mean it is better than having 5 solid teams to this point....but that it is an example of managers whose position can really skyrocket with a strong finish due to the best 5 teams of 6 rule. There are many more players in the mix, but these are folks with some explosive potential energy.

Top 92 cut is harder to discern but I'm looking at that boundary soon.
