question on hit and runs

So in a game last night, I was the beneficiary of a home run that was hit on an apparent hit and run. No complaints of course, but not sure how this would happen given it doesn't appear anywhere on the H&R charts that I know of? Is H&R one the "black box" items for 365(I don't mean in a nefarious way)?

can you please post a link to the PbP?
There are some enhancements that come into play at times but the PbP link may help narrow it down.

Sure, see bottom on 2nd inning.

The hit and run chart is only used if the batter's card rolls. If the pitcher's card rolls, a few outcomes are altered - walks, strikeouts, and lineouts. But you can still hit home runs off the pitcher's card.

I have a question on hit and runs. When should they be used? I typically just have my players set not to do it.

i have had some success with the hit and run when playing with a small ball team. I only set players rated A,B to hit and run more on the hitter preference page and set my team strategy to aggressive. I usually make sure they are batting behind * rated base stealers.

I use it for weaker offensive players whom I probably have in the lineup for stellar defense (some of the Bowa cards come to mind).
Also would have to have an A or B rating

Agree with the prior two posts.
Look at the HnR success tables.
Then you can use one word to answer your question: sparingly

I probably hit and run more than most. It can be a good play for weak hitters, including platoon guys facing a same-handed pitcher, if their rating is B or even C. (No one is rated A initially, B's become A's when a runner is held or the corners come in.)

From my experience, aggressive bunting is far more productive than aggressive H & R.
