Can't Wait for Aaron Judges 2022 card to hit ATG!!

Just sayin', it's the best single season in over 60 years that is not steroided, or strike shortened, should be fun to play with.

Centerfield eligible with 60-plus homers, high BA relative to league context, should be awesome.

Who knows, maybe. I'll look it up now ... Mmm, he's actually a plus 3 in CF (means 1 or 2 in SOM) so far this season (Total Zone Total Fielding Runs Above Average Per 1,200 innings), a plus 20 in RF, which are really good numbers:

https://www.baseball-reference.com/play ... aa01.shtml

SOM seems a bit arbitrary on these ratings, but Judge '22 should be be a 1 in both CF and RF. At the worst, a 2 in CF. No doubt, given the data on Baseball Reference.

Fielding is always complicated. I don't understand the math behind the numbers above, so just saying...

Hack, curious to know more about 3 runs of Total Zone suggesting a 1 or a 2. 3 runs above average over an entire season seems pretty close to average, which is supposed to be a 3, is it not? Also, Total Zone is bbref's way to estimate historical defensive runs saved using traditional stats, it's a cool stat for that purpose but there's no reason to use it for seasons where more advanced metrics exist...unless you've found that it tracks best with Strat's ratings? Anyway UZR, OAA, and DRS all have him as average in CF (and RF for that matter but I highly doubt he loses his 1 there). At any rate, he's currently a cf-3 in Baseball Daily. We'll likely have to "settle" for his rf-1(-5)e0.

He is a CF-3 in the 2022 DAILY SET although it doesn't mean this will be his actual rating.

definitely needs to get in by acclamation, bypassing the nomination process.

The 4L slant in the Daily Game is way off. Judge will be slanted to the right. His slashline vs. RHP is .330/.430./.722 and LHP is .264/.384/.605, My guess is he will be about a 3R.

The best part about it is that Judge may not even have the best card on his own team. Overall Matt Carpenter has a better slugging percentage and better OPS than Judge.
Carpenters power against LHP is out of this world with 5 Home runs in 33 at bats....Judge is slightly better with Slug % and OPS against RHP. Since there are more RHP I would guess that Judge may be the guy you want but it will be interesting.
Of course Carpenter will be a 4 (or 5) in the OF and will have some injury issues

Carpenter might have a 4 or 5 roll as an injury issue.
