Platoon PH with Player At a Different Position?

I have 1900 Honus Wagner full time in my lineup. Versus LHP he plays 1B, and versus RHP he plays RF.

When facing a RHP, '84 Ken Phelps starts at 1B. When facing a LHP, '17 Hunter Renfroe starts at RF.

When a LH relief pitcher enters the game, I want Hal to pinch-hit for Phelps with Renfroe, and then put Renfroe in RF and move Wagner to 1B in the next inning.

When a RH relief pitcher enters the game, I want Hal to pinch-hit Renfroe with Phelps, and then put Phelps at 1B and move Wagner to RF in the next inning.

How can I instruct or otherwise persuade Hal to do this? It's not an uncommon strategy in baseball. Thank you.

I would love a feature that more specifically contemplated this sort of double switch but it does not exist. Best I can say is set up your “avoid” settings. Make honus the backup but leave platoon blank.

Not gonna happen. HAL can't figure that kind of stuff out.

Thank you for your help, guys. I am seeing that this is indeed true, unfortunately.

Naming Wagner as the Backup1 for Phelps at 1B and Renfroe at RF did nothing.

Setting Defensive Subs of Defensive Replacement #1. Renfroe - RF and #2. Wagner - 1B, and then #3. Phelps - 1B and #4. Wagner - RF caused Hal to put Phelps in as defensive sub at 1B in the 7th inning of one game and take out Wagner entirely. Not what I had in mind.

Setting Phelps with Avoid LHP and Don't PH for vs. RHP and Renfroe to Avoid RHP and Don't PH for vs. LHP did nothing. In fact, these settings have always seemed to do absolutely nothing at all.

My last try tonight will be with the Avoid and Don't PH settings described above, but with Renfroe named as Pinch Hitter vs LHP, Phelps named as Pinch Hitter vs RHP, and Wagner named as Defensive Replacement #1 and #3. I doubt it will do anything, but what else is there?

That you can't instruct the game to enact such a common and simple managerial strategy is incredibly lame. The dropdown for Platoon PH should list all hitters, not just those who play a particular defensive position. Then, other settings should enable the defensive switches for the following inning.
