Your team name must include your Franchise name. Every team must pick ONLY from its own roster of 4 options; dead ball, pre WW2, post WW2, Expansion. The players you choose must be carded from your team only e.g. Rogers Hornsby can play for the Cubs or St. Louis and the team that gets him must use a Card from that team. 2nd e. g. if the Boston Red Sox pick Babe Ruth, they can ONLY use him as a pitcher. Etc. (of course, by doing this, they will keep him off of the Yankees!) After the teams have been picked you must drop any player who is not found in one of your 4 options and you can only pick up waivers from those 4 options as well. No NeL players will be available, nor will any players be available from teams that do not have the 4 options available to them e.g. Montreal Expos, Arizona Diamondbacks, Kansas City Royals. In other words, the team you pick’s original roster must be purely players from that team!
Trades WILL be allowed after the draft. You are able to trade with anyone you like as long as trades are within the salary cap restrictions. (of course) That is the only way that you will be allowed to have a player on your roster that is not carded to your team.
NOTE: If you trade for a player from another franchise, you can only use the player card year that was traded to you. Example: If the Senators/Twins franchise trades the 1913 Walter Johnson to the Yankees for the 1941 Joe DiMaggio card, then the Yankees can only use the 1913 Walter Johnson card, and the Senators/Twins can only use the 1941 DiMaggio card. The only exception to this rule, is if you trade for a player that has cards for multiple franchises including yours. Example: In the autodraft, the Indians lose on Tris Speaker to the Red Sox (as Speaker has cards for both teams). After the draft, the Indians could make a trade with the Red Sox for the 1912 Red Sox Speaker card, and decide to use that card, or the 1920 or 1923 cards which are Cleveland Indian Cards.
Each team must pick a ballpark that their team played at.
