* Starting Pitchers; SP 15 game injury

PostWed May 31, 2023 11:45 am

Good day!!!
A couple of quickie questions...
One, just started a 1993 - 2018 Longball Era season with my Stratcon mates, and I see that nearly all of the SP have an *. My belief would be that only SP's with 37/38 Starts and above should have the *. The pricing for those * Starting Pitchers would be adjusted upward to reflect their value- even more so than there are presently. Since five man and six man rotations are more of a reality, it would be nice to realistically convey that into the 365 game, instead of just throwing the same four guys out there for 41/40 starts.
Two, I am using a five man rotation in another league, WIPEOUT 60; three * SP and two non-* SP. And last night, one of my non-* SP's ('43 Tommy Bridges) got clipped with a 15 game injury. He is scheduled to miss three starts. I am clinging to first place in one of the divisions, so I would consider replacing him, but at this point in the season the transaction fee is 20% so I am not inclined to decimate my roster for this. Any advice would be appreciated!

Okay, Pirates' Johnny Morrison took the first vacated position in our starting rotation, and pitched a doozy! 5 IP, 2 H, 0 Runs in a 4-1 win last night. This ended a five game losing skein for the WIPEOUT HAPPY MEALS 60, as we swept the Banditos. Bridges will miss one more start before he returns from the IL, and tickets are going fast for Johnny's next starting gig! Cheers!

Division opponents are in favor of chucking all 5 SPs into the reject bin and starting over :D

As a follow up, Johnny Morrison follows up his 5 inning, 0 runs start with a 5 inning 1 run start. He won G1 4-1, and we lost his G2, 2-1 in 10 innings. Bad karma though. After our pretty decent 55-41 start, we have dropped 16 of our last 21 games and are now tied for first at 60-57. Going to grill some chicken thighs tonight for dinner as a sacrifice to the WIPEOUT 60 gods. Have a great week!
