Hey coaches,

Our good buddy Ric Woodward, alias N Texas Widowmakers, is pretty sick and hospitalized right now. I spoke with him and his wife tonight. It is very hard to breathe and talk. He had covid several months ago, but now it is long term covid and he has the flu, which is not a good combination. We are pausing our Goldrush live draft and we will patiently wait and hope he gets better and gets more energy. I know he has a Friday nite, live draft on Strat. I do not know if that will happen, unless you Friday nite guys hear something from Ric. Say prayers to Jesus for the Big Guy, will ya?

Alarming news about a long time Strat friend.

Dennis, if you are in communications with Ric, please pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Coffeeholic, I will pass on your thoughts and prayers for Big Ric. Ric has been in two leagues I am commish of Armchair and Goldrush. I started calling him occasionally to talk and we soon became friends. Soon, we talked once a month about Strat, MLB, and college football. He is a graduate of North Texas, home of Mean Joe Greene. I found out he lives in a northern suburb of Dallas. My daughter resides in the hood, West Dallas. I decided to visit Ric had great times with him. Last visit I met his wife. Now when we talk we talk about our kids, grandkids, all the TV shows, Ric and Di watch and it gives us something to connect with. It was hard for me to talk with him, I was getting misty. He has pneumonia on top of Covid and the flu as well as his other ailments. My wife jumped on the call and we prayed for Ric and Di.

You know him much better than I do Dennis. It's nice to know that this game leads to lasting friendships.

I know him as a gentleman and a great competitor. We played together in a recurring league, the "MFL", at least 50 times, dating back to the very early days of SOMO, 2003 or so.

I hope that other members of that league see this thread and are aware that he is not well.
