Do any of the experts have any initial thoughts on the details?

I like the ability to play any time including against Hal.

Seems to keep the integrity of the cards and rankings.

I signed up for the beta.

Agreed, it looks like the modernization of the PC game we've been waiting for decades. Support for draft leagues, modern netplay, all 150+ seasons included, these are the key things Strat needed to put out there in order to compete with the likes of OOTP. Hopefully this is the start of a new era.

I have not looked at it too closely but it does look like strat may be jumping into the 21st century.

It looks like it will be a subscription based service. Anybody know what the monthly price will be?

$14.99 initially as introductory, and then $19.99 according to the CTO's interview.

$15/mo or $150/yr the first year. $20/mo or $200/yr after that.

Q: What will Baseball Max cost after the Early Access Beta period ends?
Once the game transitions to a paid product, users can join Baseball Max at our special introductory prices: $14.99 per month for the first three months or $149.99 for the entire first year. After this, subscriptions will renew at $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year. It’s important to note that users are not charged until after you’ve had a chance to try out the game during our two-day free trial. Your subscription covers it all – unlimited access to all game experiences and every season offered within Baseball Max. No hidden fees or add-ons – one subscription gives you everything available.

I signed up for the beta too. My biggest concern is that something will be lost in translation and their new 1-10 ratings will not be as realistic as the traditional card ratings and algorithms. I think Strat's card building based on probabilities is their secret sauce. I do like that you can see the cards still.

The 200/year is fine. I usually spend about $100-150/year to run about 7-8 teams a year. But for $200 at an all you can eat, I imagine I'll spend significantly more time on Strat.

Good timing (maybe) as my youngest goes off to college next year!

Ok, this sounds very interesting. How do you sign up for the beta trial?
