League champion restrictions with high win %???

What is up with these leagues starting that say only XXX number of championships allowed, but several of the managers that start these leagues, or participate in them, have had 39- 55 teams with win % of .559 and .540? Is this just an attempt to keep win %'s up. Seems like after having played that many teams with that much success, you should be playing in open leagues or at least not restricting participants to teams that will likely keep win %'s up? Sometimes it is hard to fill leagues quickly, seems like this type restriction from successful managers does not make much sense.

my guess its burner accounts (second accounts) to have a better chance of winning. Unfortunate if the case.

a high winning % doesnt mean more championships so Im guessing these managers just want to give low championship managers a better chance to win one against other low championship teams..increasing your winning % doesnt win you credits

Back in the Dark Ages, we had a series of "Ring Flings".
Open only to managers without any titles. At least one team would be ineligible for the next iteration. Some guys won a title in another league during the season and couldn't come back.
It was fun.
We didn't have problems with folks breaking the rules.

There are probably several motives going on here, some legit, some not.
Burner accounts, meaning 2 teams in the same league, is EXPRESSELY PROHIBITED AND HIGHLY ILLEGAL AND UNETHICAL and it should be reported immediately. It is straight up cheating. Unless of course it some kind of private theme league where it is allowed, and that box is checked. There is a box, for more than one team per league.
But I suspect that people who start those leagues, are just desperate to win and want a fighting chance against newer inexperienced players.
In a sense, it is their own theme league, and truly their own prerogative.
Sometimes someone will just ignore these qualifications and join anyway. Maybe they made a mistake, maybe not.
But another thing to think about is, if they keep the league to certain qualifications, it could take forever to fill.
The bottom line is, if you really want to be able to control the league in such a way, you probably should just check the PRIVATE LEAGUE BOX.

If someone is controlling two teams in one league, where that is not allowed, (which is like 99.9% of leagues) that is cheating and should be reported immediately. No joking around.
There is a mechanism whereby you can allow people to have more than one team in a league. For various themes, but I doubt even 1 in a thousand leagues have been setup that way.

I was just about to post about this. Thanks for calling this out Cheapseats!
There is a $140 mil league forming now under the moniker of 12 Championships or less.
Here’s a breakdown of the managers who have joined so far:
Manager 1) 131 teams - .508 winning % -8 Rings
Manager 2) 132 teams - .497 winning % - 6 Rings
Manager 3) 40 teams - .559 winning % - 9 Rings
Manager 4) 81 teams- .515 winning % - 7 Rings
Manager 5) 56 teams - .540 winning % - 11 Rings
At some point the “Newbie” excuse has to be pealed away and these guys need to belly up to the bar and drink with the big boys.
Leagues are so slow to fill these days, the last thing we need are restrictions on who can and who can’t join.

LeGrandeOrange your post, below, was exactly my question/comment. Many of these handles have more than enough experience and with success to be needing to have a league with restricted access.

I think it's weak to do these types of leagues, SOFT! Like they say, you don't learn to become a better tennis player by always playing against weaker competition. Gimme a break ....

I posted about this before sorta---
Some of this are newer players who don't fare well when they get in a league with vets so want to play against players with similar competition experience...
HOWEVER-- a bunch of these accounts are vets who own MULTIPLE accounts
You can pretty much tell when someone at high caps know how to draft when they've had only a few teams-
there is almost no way to figure out stuff like where to draft certain players at high caps without a decent amount of experience.
Which someone with 5 or 10 teams wouldn't be able to do- even if they are copying...
