New Card Nominations are Up

PostSun May 26, 2024 9:15 pm

New Card Nominations are up on the Card Discussion Forum.

For informational purposes, Todd Zeile has played the most games in MLB without an ATG card.
Carlos Lee has played the next most games without an ATG card.

Zeile has decent 91, 94, 97, and 99 cards.
Carlos Lee's best is going to be his 2004 CWS card.

Johnny Damon is 63rd in MLB Games played, with only 1 card. HIs best all-around card is his 2000 KC card; his best with the Red Sox is 2002 or 2004.

That's great info, Andy. Thanks. I had thought Carlos Lee was the leader. Zeile might indeed be a useful add.

Myself, I have ballot fatigue. Has it been 3 or 4 elections since S-o-M dropped any new cards?

Likely will sit this one out. But would love to add good LHSP* with 3R or further right. I just don't know of any off the top of my head.

Warren Spahn 1962 1.13 whip 4R 1961 1.14 whip 3R 1958 1.15 whip 4R
.
Also, his best season 1953 is in, but not superadvanced. It is an E, but superadvanced shows a 3R. It would be great if ATG10 would update all cadillac cards to superadvanced, but I think we'd have to specifically advocate for that.

All his ATG cards are E or 1L, so an R balance would be a good add for him.

Why does Harry Stovey have zero cards?

"Stovey was a tremendous ballplayer who led the league five times in homers, three times in slugging, four times in runs scored, three times in total bases, once in doubles, four times in triples, once in RBI, twice in stolen bases, and five times in extra-base hits.

He has 56 points on the Black Ink test (27 is the average score for a Hall of Famer) and 210 points on the Gray Ink test (144 is the average score for a Hall of Famer). His lifetime Adjusted OPS+ of 143 ties him with Harmon Killebrew and Eddie Mathews."

I don't participate in these so I have no idea if this is useful, but I'd love to see more viable Joe Morgan 2B cards. His are too expensive at 80M IMO and I'd really like to try him out.
