Yankee 27

I am wondering if anyone has had some of the players that I have on my team not do well (I have some players that I have not used in the past)? I figured having Yankee 27 that the team would be hitting HRs but that is not the case. I am last in runs and 2nd in pitching. I am hoping that the team comes around. The team has the least number of errors so I cannot blame the defense. Just confused at the moment.

Foxx,McGWire,Ellsbury, Banks, and Gonzalez are all sucking the hind tit badly

your home stats aren't totally dismal, almost .800 OPS, but your road offense has sucked....played in mostly pitchers' parks ?

also, 27 games isn't really a large enough sample size to balance weird stretches

good luck rest of season

Holy Cow! You spent way too much on relief pitchers, wasted money and value, even at $140M. (I usually spend total about $10M in my bullpen in $140 leagues, two good balanced relievers and a few sharp split guys). So that bullpen spending detracts from your offense and is the reason you're not scoring runs. Still early, drop some of those relievers and beef up your offense.

Hack Wilson is an offensive philosopher. And this wins. :)

Just a few things to consider here….. in that ballpark the single rating is low so the avg will be a little lower than normal. Power plays well so the amount of hrs will be fine. The other thing is in a bigger salary cap (140m) you’ll be facing good pitching. Most days a deep lineup will win out but you’ll run into a handful of tough pitches games every so often. As big Fred said you need a bigger sample before a true judgement could be made on the team.

Here's an example of a $140M team (44-28 so far) with a cheap bullpen, strong rotation, and offensive-minded lineup in a righty bomber park:
