Fewest homers, 100 extra base hits club

Very difficult feat to achieve -- right now, at 147 games, I have Nap Lajoie at only 25 homers, but 46 doubles and 11 triples. A total of 82 extra base hits.

I'd love to see a player with few homers but tons of doubles and triples, amounting to 100-plus extra base hits. Probably not something people track much. Some players come to mind, like Lajoie and Al Simmons. Again, I'm looking for the fewest homers and 100 extra base hits.

I got one with Speaker had to go back a ways to find it. Had a few close calls with Barnes , Speaker (again) and Duffy.

Again I have to point out the 7.69M Greenberg. Although he hit 40 HR he had 73 2B and 5 3B. That adds up to 161 extra base hits.

Nice! Looks like the Speaker and Greenberg cards for those years are well-positioned for this type of thing.

Found a Greenberg 31 homer year with 110 extra base hits overall -- https://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1790412

161 is just the 2B and 3B...

It appears that you adding up the TOTAL BASES? Because 73 + 5 does not equal 161 extra base hits, but it does equal 161 total bases.

The thread is about sheer number of extra base hits, not total bases.

Here's my Nap Lajoie, 84 extra base hits, 26 homers and a handful of games left -- he won't get there, but still a spectacular season for the most expensive Lajoie card in a $140M league:
