Old Hoss Radbourn was pitching when my DH rolled a 6-12. There was no injury and it's possible that was just the result of the 20 sided die. But it got me thinking...

Some pitchers are limited to a 3 game injury based on IP.
Radbourn pitched 678 innings in 1884. Is that enough to make him bulletproof?

I don't know, but I do know there are quirks in the game with regard to pitcher's offensive abilities. So, since all injuries occur on hitting cards, it's possible.

For example, SP Ray Caldwell 1920, $.97M, uses a 3WL pitcher's hitting card. Yet some internal and invisible ratings unique to Caldwell give him extraordinary base-stealing abilities. Some seasons I've seen him lead his entire team in SB.

But, you'd never know that until you see it in game action.

This sent me to the 1920 roster sheet, which lists the pitchers who have their own running and stealing ratings.

Caldwell's steal rating is a hilarious (E) 2-12/- (20-6)

So with a good lead, he has a 100% safe chance before pitcher, catcher, and hold adjustments. And he has a 100% chance of getting a good lead. And this all adds up to an E rated stealer according to Strat.

It's an obvious error. Someone with those supplementary ratings would be rated AAA. E-rated guys can have a 100% chance for a good lead or they can have a 100% safe chance with a good lead, but they sure as hell can't have both lol.

It is cool to know that Strat is coding these "hidden" ratings from the roster sheets though.
