That is bad luck! The odds of getting two balks like that is 1 in a 160,000 (about the odds of being struck by lightning sometime over the next four years). However, once you got the first balk, the odds of getting the second were only 1 in 400 if that makes you feel any better!

Still bad luck. I don't recommend going for a walk in a thunderstorm until 2017.

How do you get a balk in Strat?
When the three dice are rolled, a 20-sided is also rolled (in CD-rom and SOM Online, it is hidden). If a 2 comes up on the 20-sided die, then a balk or passed ball may occur. Roll a six-sided die. On a 1, 2, or 3, a balk may occur. On a 4, 5, or 6, a passed ball may occur. Roll the 20-sided die and consult the appropriate rating/player.

So, in the case of Pedro above:
A 5% chance occurred (the 2).
A 50% chance occurred (1, 2, or 3).
A 5% chance occurred (a 1 on the 20 per Pedro's 1-rating for balks).
