I've never voiced this thought but I do believe that the voting process for cap and dh is premature. As it turns out, there is rarely, if ever a consensus among the nine finalists, such that the cap ends up being determined by the the delayed votes of the three semifinalist winners. This seems to me to give them disproportionate influence that they have not earned by their performance over the six events that constitute the "regular season" tour.

Not looking to change this format this season. Just want to put it out there for consideration regarding future tours.

Also don't expect much trash talking from me before the finals actually start. I like and respect Bernie, Goreds, Riggo Drill and Matt and don't really know the guys who finished 7-9 in the standings. Should be an interesting finals. I am expecting Cristano to join us but he has to get past outtaleftfield and a few others first. Sure hope I get in Lab's division again though, it was great fun keeping him out of the playoffs last year.

When the board gets together to discuss next seasons tour in the winter offseason and what we might consider changing, your comments will be considered. But instead of just suggesting "change this format", what solution is YOUR recommendation ? Extreme caps for the finals are OFF the table and obviously we still want to Live Draft. 80 Mil is still considered by SOM to be the default cap but 100 Mil is played more often. What other options are there to get the totals polled ? Have the votes sent to me privately and then I can reveal once all the votes are in ? Have SOM arrange a private mailbox and have them maintain the vote ? Again, what change do you suggest ?

My recommendation is that a secret ballot be held once the finalists are determined. We simply email our preferences to the Commissioner, who tabulates them and announces the results. Not looking to change the finals caps, 80M or 100m suit me fine.

I would also recommend a 120M option if the "choose a cap season" feature continues and consider either ending the 200M event or making it strictly a live draft.

The other way to do it is to wait for the final three and then go reverse order giving the 1st place final say and if there is a tie he could even have the ability to break the tie

120M is an interesting idea but the problem with that is it isn't a standard cap. Barnstormers attracts it's share of green newbies and they often need to be hand held. You list a cap that they have to go out of their way to get to and it's confusing. This is what they see.

"Check out what kinds of leagues are forming now!
$60,000,000
$80,000,000 (standard) (Stick to this if you wish to join an Auto League)
$100,000,000
$140,000,000
$200,000,000
$999,000,000 (i.e. unlimited)"
other * ...

I've never liked the 200 Mil Event and wanted to remove it long ago, but I recall a handful of elite players had strong requests to keep it in. And again with the newbies, I don't think a 100% live draft could ever work. A large majority of "average" players jump in an auto league - set their lineups and never look in on their team again. I would expect that a lot of people would skip a 100% live draft requirement due to it's complexity.

It might be EASIER to get SOM to put the 120 Mil Cap in the list than to try to explain to a newbie how to use the other * … - I will pursue that option. Then the board can consider dropping 200 for the 120. It will still take a majority vote.

Thanks for your suggestions.
