As it is, this also gives labrat the extra time he needs due to the personal situation he has mentioned. You didn't REALLY want anyone in the Finals group to start if they aren't able to focus 100% do you ??

Once we break this tie, the league will be setup and the password sent out privately. We are better off going against the official rules of a 16 round draft which was always meant for Diamond Dope than trying to get SOM to figure out how to enable a 16 round draft on their APP. For this level of importance I might suggest that every man on your squad is important to draft !?! Therefore we will do SOM's 25 round AND the newly implemented STADIUM DRAFT.

Once everyone joins the league, I will have to get SOM involved to put everyone in correct draft order and then we will setup for a few days ahead of time. The draft will be on a 2 hour clock. Any longer and it's tedious. That's long enough don't you think ? Does anyone else have an issue with the timing of the Live Draft ?

Interesting to note is that Diamond Dope has now turned off his Live Draft feature. R.I.P and a tremendous kudo for SOM getting their APP up to the level we needed. Lets hope that drafting a stadium in any round works and for a smooth Finals Draft. :D

FWIW - my vote (would have been) 100-DH also and my justification is because it's still the most played CAP. Most played in our CHOICE event and just most played in ATG.

Anyway, thanks to the board that they jumped in quickly on their busy Sunday.

I, too, am grateful to the board and Moose for their quick action in this matter and for all the time they spend making BSers a good tournament.

This is not a criticism, but I'm a little disappointed that the Finals again are using a DH. Given that there was a tie in the voting, I was hoping that the Finals would be $80 mil no DH to mitigate the impact of the super reliever strategy. Yes, I understand that the higher the cap, the smaller the impact of the super reliever strategy, but at least with no DH there's a possibility that HAL will pinch hit for the super reliever and get him out of the game. The tourney should reward managers who build the best team, not those who best game the system. A truer test of team building skills would be a cap of $140 million.

Note that I'm not trying to hijack this thread and turn it into a debate on the super reliever strategy. Those arguments have been made and rehashed numerous times in the ATG forum.

I can't say that I blame the managers who use the super reliever strategy. It is a viable strategy, just as playing a team in a skewed ballpark is a viable strategy.

The responsibility for closing the super reliever loophole rests squarely with SOM. Until such occurs, it is here to stay.

Good luck to all the managers in the Finals.

I agree. I wanted 80m cap because everyone is just going to copy my stud starter team at 100m. In the past few Barn finals, like 2 stud star pitchers have gone in the first 4 rounds. I doubt that will be the case in this league. I am just hoping some managers will actually be creative and not go with a copy Cristano type approach.

wrt christiano1, I am am just afraid that people will copy my clothing style of wearing a tie and cowboy boots to the draft. Its so embarrassing when i walk in a room and you got all these wannabes....just no one do that please.
