2016 Tour Dates announced / info

The event schedule for the 2016 Tour has been announced. The main tour page is being modified by SOM and will be ready to be released for viewing soon.

Again, the tour will be 6 events, 5 required. If you play in all 6, your low season is dropped. Ballpark groupings are unchanged and will be the same as before.

Event 1 - 100 Mil - NO DH - Autodraft - Start dates April 4 or April 11
Event 2 - 60 Mil - NO DH - Autodraft - Start dates - May 2 or May 9
Event 3 - 80 Mil - NO DH - Autodraft - Start dates - June 6 or June 13
Event 4 - 200 Mil - DH - Autodraft - Live Draft Optional - Start dates July 4 or July 11
Event 5 - 140 Mil - DH - Autodraft - Live Draft Optional - Start dates Aug 1 or Aug 8
Event 6 - 100 Mil - DH - Autodraft - Start date Sept 12 only
Semifinals - TBD - TBD - TBD
Finals - TBD TBD TBD

New for the tour in 2016, a bonus team credit will be given to every player who makes the semi-finals or directly to the Finals to "pay" for that extra team. This is 45 additional credits granted to the Barnstormers Tournament.

Also, the Champion will receive (in addition to the regular prizes) the option of being able to choose 5 new player "cards" to add to the ATG 8 game.

Live Draft (on the SOM site) will be an option in every event, but judging from last year, it was only popular enough to get this off the ground for the higher cap events. If I get 12 interested after sending out the Event invites, then a time will be set inline with the Live Drafts we did last year.

I have removed the cap "choice" for event 1. It's just too administratively difficult for the commissioner. I have replaced it to add a second 100 Mil event (the most popular event cap) which will give us both 100 Mil DH and NO DH.

A signup sheet will be released as soon as SOM finalizes our main 2016 page. E-Mail invites will be sent out to all players that I have e-mail addresses for.

The Ballbusters prefer a Live Draft for all events.

Live draft is an OPTION for all events, but in the lower caps, there is usually not enough interest to get 12 players to Live Draft. At the 140 and 200 Mil caps, at least 2-3 leagues are live drafting. None of the other tourneys are using Live Draft at all.

Yep, read that earlier. If there is anyone else interested, put me in it as well. Kicking it off early, and if it doesn't make, letting teams move to other leagues, seemed to work out pretty well last year. But I'm easy, so whatever you decide, I'm ready for either. Thanks again for all your hard work that you put in on these leagues.

Almost 5 leagues have filled and I have had ZERO requests to Live Draft. It will probably fly at 140 and 200 Mil, but I do not see getting 12 people to live draft at 100 Mil.
