Are there ballpark restrictions like last year ?

My plan is, "yes", there will be ballpark restrictions.

I was actually thinking about the idea of making the restrictions more interesting and detailed, or just going with the basic "no repeats" rule.

What do you think about the whole idea? Are you saying that you'd prefer not to have any limitation (I don't think I would go for that, but you can make your case for me!) or are you saying you prefer something different? Please let me know, and I welcome comments on how to improve the tournament. It isn't too late to make a few changes for the 2013 tournament.

I am also considering implementing a limit on innings pitcher for relievers, based on some comments from last year. This is perhaps more difficult to monitor, and I'm a little bit reluctant to go too hard on this. If we had a limit on IP for relief pitchers, I think it would need to be a generous limit. I think the rule in the past was less than 200 IP for a relief pitcher. I think this might be a good idea, although I don't think anyone went over 200 IP last year anyway - to the best of my knowledge. What do people think about that?

Unlike ATG there are relatively few cards >R2 and I'm not sure there is a benefit to overworking relievers in a 20XX set. My experience is that they become less effective as the innings mount. I don't think a limit is necessary.

Thanks for your thoughts Scumby. I agree. Also, I think a limit on IP for relievers would be difficult for me to identify as commissioner. Last year I asked Strat to run a report for me on duplicate ballparks, which they did for me. I think I will leave the rules as written on the main page, with a few details that I've added on the new rules thread. But I will leave the rule against duplicating ballparks as the only penalty provision.

By signing up here (which I think you just did), you're in!

Please review the tournament rules and details here:

Then, create a team for Event 1, which is an $80 million salary cap team, 2012 (not unleashed, just the regular set), with a DH in your planned lineup, and enter a league! We are currently filling Event 1 League 3. It is set up as a private league (look down on your screen display for the private leagues). The password is "PC2013".

(I am mainly using password protection to avoid accidental team entries by people who are not part of the tournament).

Please read the tournament rules carefully. In particular, you must enter 1, and only 1 team, for each event. You must not re-use a ballpark. So if you used PNC in event 1, you could not use that ballpark again for the rest of the 2013 tournament. Please also notice the deadlines for entering each event. You still have time for event 1. But take a look at the dates for events 2 through 5 as well. Make sure you don't miss entering a team in any event.
