Hopefully we'll get started tomorrow. I turn into a pumpkin for tonight in about 3 hours.

Don't get excited about this post because it is NOT my draft pick. However, it would be nice to have a rough estimate of the time needed for a draft decision.

ycbill, I'm pleased it's not your pick, since this isn't the draft thread.

There is usually no clock for Round 1 of a live draft, and Commissioner's discretion thereafter.

Regarding the timeliness of picks...

Look, you managers have competed over nine months. I am not going to establish some kind of hard time limit now, even with the "herding cats" problems of a live draft, when you worked so hard to make it this far. Everyone of us know how busy life outside of SOM Online can be.

Having said that, something should also be said about common courtesy. Check the boards regularly until the draft is done. Post when you will be off the grid for a longer than usual amount of time. Send me your picks to proxy in your extended absence. Do everything possible to keep things moving. If nothing else, send ME a private message so I can reassure everyone else when it's your pick and you've been away from the boards.

People are impatient, but not so impatient that they can't be smoothed over with some minimal communication. It's the long, empty spaces of nothingness that are so mind-numbingly frustrating.

Please make the extra effort, as a courtesy to your fellow competitors.

If you find it helpful, maybe in a private message you can swap emails with the person picking after you, to alert them that they are up to pick by going the instant messenger or email route.

In addition, TourCommissioner2015@yahoo.com is still operational. Send me a message there so I have your email. That way, as I'm checking the draft, I can also give you a heads up if you tend not to follow the boards too closely, but your phone is usually handy.

Commish, would you consider renaming this thread to 2015 Tour Finals Chat Thread? It's good to keep the draft and the chat separate, and making it as obvious as possible helps.
